Crafts n’ Tasks of Island Life

Trio of Stones

This week-long workshop is an opportunity to learn new skills and discover the importance of the old skills in the daily living of the time. Through the input of local crafts persons and historians, the participants will discover how many of the things we think of today as handcrafts had a use, which has long disappeared from our contemporary lives. Some of the crafts originating on the island may just have found their way across the Atlantic and into the antique stores of today.

This workshop is currently under development. In order to best serve the needs of those interested, please contact us. We are able to adjust our schedule to suit your desires in most cases and hold this workshop when it is most convenient for you. We thrive on personalizing your unforgettable trip to Orkney. If you are intrigued and qualified to lead any of these workshops, or you think are able to bring along participants to any of these, please contact us with your proposal, background information, and availablity.
