Not Orkney, but Easter Island

Stones will be stones…and they will stand…

Jeanne traveled to Easter Island in 2005 and just hasn’t been the same since! Easter Island, though remote, offers an unforgettable journey to where art, craft, culture and history meld together. Using the resources uncovered by Sharon , we will learn traditional art methods and craft techniques from the native Rapa Nui women. If you have already experienced an Orkney Arts Adventure, you will find these standing stone sculptures provocative in ways different than Orkney’s. Yet, the surrounding landscape, seascape, and waterscape will remind you of Orkney. For a sample of what Sharon will offer us, look at her website easterislandteora.com. Jeanne is planning a return trip in 2010. This will be a small group, so please express your interest early.

This workshop is currently under development. In order to best serve the needs of those interested, please contact us. We are able to adjust our schedule to suit your desires in most cases and hold this workshop when it is most convenient for you. We thrive on personalizing your unforgettable trip to Orkney. If you are intrigued and qualified to lead any of these workshops, or you think are able to bring along participants to any of these, please contact us with your proposal, background information, and availablity.
